Cabaret Kit Kat Girls

For those of you who love Musical Theatre you will recognise the song titles Willkommen and Mein Herr as classics from the famous musical Cabaret!

A few weeks ago we blogged about working with our old friend The Fabulous Miss G* (Read past post here) and today we will share with you a couple of videos from this latest appearance with her.

The enjoyable evening on Saturday 13th April in aid of 2 wonderful charities was a triumph and the audience took to their feet with delight.

Six of our expert team performed alongside Miss G* and Ernie Wise in a section of the nights show that took the audience to the dark sordid 'Cabaret' night club ran by 'The Captain' and home to the talented 'Kit Kat Girls'

Enjoy and please feel free to share :-)

Backing Dancers

Earlier this year Manic got approached by an up and coming pop solo artist to choreograph a commercial dance routine to his debut single and perform it on his forth coming music video!

Jamie Riley is a young talented musician from Portsmouth who writes his own music. He is currently signed to the record label Downtown Artist. His debut single ‘Test Drive’ and his 2nd single ‘Heartbeat’ are both available on iTunes.

Here is the link to his debut single ‘Test Drive’ –

And a link is his 2nd Single ‘Heartbeat’ has now been released on iTunes –

Last night Jamie surprised us by popping by for an impromptu rehearsal. Here is a sneaky video of how the piece is looking so far...

We can’t wait to film the ‘Test Drive’ music video over the summer! Costumes, location and final production details are all in discussion.

What this space for more details and the final film!

Another great weekend for Manic!

What a Manic weekend!

On Saturday, Manic Stage Productions had several different event bookings and the team juggled rehearsals, shows and shots. Everyone worked so hard and the whole team had so much fun!

The weekend started at The Kings Theatre where Nicole lead a Choreography Master class to 50 enthusiastic teenagers. She taught them 5 different techniques to help them choreograph with confidence. Nicole has many years of experience as a choreographer, both here and in the states so she was the perfect choice to lead this 2 hour session.

Matt and 7 of the Manic team headed off to Worthing to work with Fontwell Park Racecourse and entertain the crowds in the town centre whilst promoting their forthcoming Abba Race Night. The team took to the street singing and dancing to our Abba medley and even the rain couldn't stop the girls and shoppers having fun!

Everyone then headed to their evening bookings. One of the Manic teams performed alongside Miss G* at the Sailors Home Club for the Lord Mayors Appeal and a room full of over 100 guests. The Sound of Music (with a twist) night was full of laughter as Miss G* told the sordid tale of The Convent night club with our fantastic cabaret girls.

Over the other side of the city 2 of the team greeted guests at a Vegas themed night. Dressed in white Vegas showgirl feathers, the gorgeous girls handed out shots to get the party started. Storm Shephard, who organised the event said "The girls were amazing! It definitely helped to make a memorable night and the guests loved them."

I think we can safely say the weekend was a huge success and it doesn't stop there!

Tonight we step on the stage again, this time at The Kings Theatre for the Lord Mayors Gala. Our beautiful Manic girls will end the evening's show with a Dream Girls finalle that we are sure will dazzle and delight the audience and of course the Mayor of Portsmouth.

Our new team step on stage

Congratulations to our new team members who made their Manic performance debut on Saturday at The Jolly Sailor.

After joining us back in February (see previous post – New Faces of Manic), the girls have been hard at work each Tuesday taking classes and learning choreography with the rest of the Manic Stage Productions Pro Show Team. Last Saturday saw the girls step on stage for their debut at The Jolly Sailor, Southsea. Our 6 new talented dancers opened the show for our Lost Hour performance (see previous post – The Lost Hour).

The large crowd who attended on Saturday night were treated to an hour of all singing and all dancing musical theatre medleys. Our fab new Manic team opened with a 15 minute Mamma Mia medley.

Megan said “It felt great to be on stage as a Manic member, the audience seemed to love our performance.” Jess took on the roll as the sections lead singer and certainly impressed everyone with her live vocal talent. “Wow that girl can sing!” exclaimed an excited audience member.

And they didn’t stop there!

After a quick costume change they stepped back on stage to perform All That Jazz from the well known sexy musical Chicago. The contrasting pieces showcased the diversity of each individual and added to the fantastic, electric atmosphere of the evening.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the amazing night. Nicola Williams from The New Theatre Royals Lost Hour Production Team said “The musical medley was the highlight of my day!” :)

Thanks to the wonderful performances of each member both new and old Manic have been booked to perform at The Jolly Sailor again as part of a fun filled Vegas night! This is sure to be a great contact we have made and we look forward to working at The Jolly Sailor again in September. We shall be sure to let you know all the details nearer the time :)
