Last Monday saw the commencement of our 4 week confidence course! 

Manic Stage Productions are always getting asked to teach their talents to the general public and finally Nicole bit the bullet and made time in her busy business schedule to reveal some trade secrets!

The beautiful and scintillating art of burlesque has seen a massive resurgence in popularity over the past few years. With women of all ages wanting to watch, learn and experience the sexy yet extremely classy showgirl world. The tempting costumes, big-band sounds, decadent stage sets, elaborate props and the risque routines are making a storming comeback as shows sell out across the country.

It was no surprise then, that the sort after 8 places sold out straight away and this intimate yet super fun class was a huge success!

We cannot tell you too much as to what goes on behind the closed doors of the studio but be assured these ladies are having the time of there life learning to shimmy and shake!

Lulu from Love Southsea did have a little something to say "I thought it was amazing that all different sorts of lovely ladies really come out of their shells in such a short space of time. Nicole made it so easy to get to grips with and is really good fun! The perfect teacher for this cheeky class. I will certainly be recommending her next course to my friends!"

Clowning Around

Roll Up Roll Up 

Did you come down to Lakeside North Harbour to the Cirque Du Central Square event last Wednesday evening?! 

The SHOW Girlz entertained the thousands of office workers at 1000 Lakeside during the grand opening of Lakeside North Harbour Central Square. 

To open the event our gorgeous girlz clowned around performing to a medley of fun circus themed songs by Britney and Christina. They danced, jumped and twirled to open the event with colourful costumes and creative choreography

The evening was presented by our very own Ring Master Jamie who compered the unfolding events. 

As the night drew in our very own fire performer Megan wowed the crowds with breath taking fire eating! 

The whole Manic team amazed the crowds with their circus acts and our stilt walker Natalie delighting the passers by as she stood high up above the crowds!

The Circus themed event was to celebrate the opening of the new shopping area at 1000 Lakeside and along with our dazzling performers there were some fantastic free runners and many of the shops had demonstrations, competitions and fun for all the family. 

What a great, fun event for the retailers to showcase themselves and for the crowds to be fully entertained by an evening of circus themed entertainment!

Manic Learn New Tricks

Pole class was tough but our girlz mastered it

Last week The SHOW Girlz took off their dancing shoes to try out Pole Dancing at Tiger Tone Studios in Havant.

Manic's  team of professional dancers would not be defeated by the seemingly easy tricks demonstrated with such ease by Tiger Tones Owner Natalie Sabiston Cripps. They were determined to master the moves and after a lot of determination they certainly cracked it!

Our Show Girlz may look like dainty wall flowers but they certainly proved their strength in the pole studio!

The girls mastered some amazing moves as you can see by the great photographs!

They did what our SHOW Girlz do best, they made it look like they have been doing it for years and by the end of the class the routine was looking fabulous!

The girls also had a quick lesson in hoop while at the studio and again see how wonderful our girls look not only dancing, but also hanging upside down!

Everyone had a great time and lots of laughs were had! Even Manic's co owners Nicole & Matt had ago....... Remember they are little older than the rest of us!

We want to thank Tiger Tone Studios for such a great class! All involved really enjoyed the taster session and agree its a great way to keep fit and tone muscles. 

Don't worry the girls will be back to their normal dancing classes this week getting ready for our next SHOW Girlz performance!

Back to School!

So its finally September and all the kids are back to school! 

September is an exciting time for Manic, its time for all our after school clubs to begin! Our teachers can't wait to get back to school to start teaching the children again and to see lots of new faces joining us for our fun after school clubs!

We run after school clubs in dance, drama, cheerleading and we even run pop academies for those budding stars! 

The kids love to learn new dance moves, sing and act with their friends. Its a great way for the kids to gain confidence and keep active!

College Park Infants
Goldsmith Infants

We certainly gathered a crowd

We had loads to shout about this weekend!

The Show Girlz were out and about this weekend performing as cheer leaders for Fontwell Park Race Course. 

Our fun filled and happy cheer squad surprised audiences in Chichester and Portsmouth town centres with high energy, leg kicking and splitting, exciting cheerleading 
performances. Children and adults crowded round to see the team and I think we caused quite a stir!

Throughout both days they created a buzz to help advertise Fontwell Parks Figure of 8 Family Race Day on Sunday the 8th September.  

Peppa Pig & George will be making appearances at regular intervals throughout this great family day and there is plenty of other activities for children of every age including; funfair rides, bouncy castles, face painting and Love The Races kids roadshow!! There are also 8 thrilling races to pick a winner from!

Giving our bit back!

Dancing for Charity

This weekend The Show Girlz will be strutting their stuff for charity at The Kings Theatre, Southsea

On Saturday 7th September some of our talented team will be performing two fabulous routines in the charity event ‘Fused! 

Fused! will combine local professional and amateur dancers performing contemporary, urban, and traditional dance styles in one night of high-octane, highly-polished, and fantastic dance routines. 

Included in the evenings line up along side Manic Stage Productions are Flavio de Brito with Tango de Noches dancers, Giselle Academy School of Dance, 3 J’s, Most Wanted, and many more.

The evenings entertainment is to raise funds for Portsmouth Fundraisers Macmillan Cancer Support and the Kings Theatre restoration. 

The girls are busy rehearsing this week and can't wait to perform once again on this inspiring stage in such a truly lovely theatre!

Portsmouth's got talent

Manic Stage Productions will be back on the judging panel this week! Friday 6th September, for the final exciting heat of Grosvenor Casino Talent Contest at Portsmouth Gunwharf Quays. 

This time Nicole will be sat in the hot seat and is very much looking forward to seeing more of the local talent. 

She can't wait to help someones dream come true by sending another hopeful to the finals at G Casino Reading to be in with a chance of winning £1000.

Nicole will be joined by the very talented Amba Tremain who has been a professional singer for over 15 years. Her latest credit is having provided vocals on the new Boy George album 'This is what I do' due for release in October!!

On Friday 9th of August Lucy Kate from the Manic Stage Production's Artistic Team lead the judging panel for the 1st exciting heat! 

She certainly had a fun filled evening watching a variety of talented singers and found it quite a struggle to help decide on the evenings winner.
